Speed

I took this photo when I went to Poole, because there was so much rubbish on the shore, there was nothing to do but make a feature of it in my new collection of photos called "Rubbish Landscapes". Back to this picture, I did it as part of a panorama but it was a little wonky so I gave up on it. Bellow is where I took it (Picture: The GeoInformation Group). It looks like it is on the road (A350) behind Pet at Home and DFS etc... 50°44'01.9''N 1°59'31.63''W if you want to find it on Google earth.

It has come, Photoshop is Here!

I tried to order it of eBay, didn't come, Tried somewhere else and it came the very next day! I of corse cost more, the the product did actually exist (lol)! I also decided to go for it and brought Studio 8, It is brilliant! Flash - Did a fully-fledged cartoon on the FIRST DAY!!! ( I did watch a bout an hour and a half of training videos on line, and a live lip-syncing seminar). I have used Dreamweaver MX for up-dating a site for a first school, and will be using Contribute to up date their new site now they are a primary school (spetisbury). Fireworks is a good program, quite hard, but a huge mountain of virtual brushes.

Photoshop CS2 is great, like elements but better! Image Ready is great for websites and I did some really cool things with a few clicks! Making wheels on cars spin, putting my name realistically on the side! It is fab! I also got Illustrator CS2, the templates are the best I have ever seen! they are totally awe inspiring. Vectors are amazing full stop.

If you have any hints, tips or easter eggs (jokes in the programing, not the hollow chocolate kind (lol), I would love to hear from you.

Katsushika Hokusai

Yet another collage I did when I felt board. They are really easy once you know the steps (and turn off the sticky keys!). When every you want to draw, paint or rub-out in a strait line all you have to do hold down the shift key. Under normal settings, pressing the shift key 5 time without touching any other buttons turns on sticky keys. Holding it down for eight seconds will turn on another accessibility feature. To Turn them off, go into the control panel and the accessibility. Turn off the features and you are done!

New Craze!

I found a tutorial at PhotoshopCafe.com which showed you how to create these "WOW" posters. The person who wrote then said that the were asked so many times how they did such amazing pictures using noting but photoshop and a photograph, that they made a tutorial. The top one is the first one I made following most of the tutorial word for word. The one below that is my latest one. It just uses a picture off the net of a bamboo forest (same one as in "Memoirs of a Geisha", forest that is) a knowledge of text, lines and blends. And all with elements 4.0. CS2 is *hopfuly* on its way (fingers crossed by Friday). When I get it I will finish off the bottom one. Enjoy...

I like the bottom one because the word ART fits in better with the orange paint, but the top one uses an arty font.

iPod Gull

This effect is accom-plished by just cutting out the sea gull and filling it black and creating a back-ground layer which is orange. It sort of reminds me of those iPod adverts. It was taken on Brighton pier and the bird is sitting on a life ring. The original shot was a little boring and dull so I decided to take the relevant measures to make it more exiting and attractive I tried to make it as smaller file as possible by saving the JPEG at quality 45 which should suffice and I also shrunk it to 600px width. I managed to find Photoshop CS2 on eBay for an unbelievably low price from someone who was setting up a software re-selling company. If you have any tips on using it, they will be greatly appreciated.

Cat Nap

This may look like a photograph, but it is actually a virtual painting I did using a wonderful free program called "ArtRage". You can choose the size, colour and paper of the canvas, load a trace image, choose your paint or pen/pencil/chalk/crayon colour, wash your brush and even run out of paint on the longer oil strokes. I did this picture using this image as the trace image and set it to pick colours automatically. In a way it is cheating, but it gives a good effect.
